WASHINGTON, Sketsa.id — In a surprising turn of events, former U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Iran have reached afull and comprehensive ceasefire agreement, set to be implemented gradually within the next 24 hours.

Sharing the update via his platform, Truth Social, Trump stated that this ceasefire would mark the official end of hostilities — a potential breakthrough following a weekend of heightened military tension between the United States and Iran.

“This will be the beginning of the end for this war,” Trump wrote, referring to the escalation that began with a U.S. airstrike targeting three major nuclear sites in Iran.

Earlier on Tuesday (June 24, 2025), Iran had responded with a missile attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar. The Pentagon later confirmed that there were no reported casualties in the strike.

While the ceasefire agreement details remain unclear, Trump’s announcement signals a possible shift in a conflict that had rapidly intensified in recent days. The reported agreement also hints at backchannel diplomacy between historically hostile parties — something Trump has long claimed as his political strength.

For now, the world watches cautiously as developments unfold, hoping the fragile truce holds in a region long plagued by tension and volatility. (*)
