Dedi Mulyadi Responds to “Content Governor” Nickname at DPR RI Hearing

Jakarta, Sketsa.id – West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi claimed he has significantly reduced the provincial government’s advertising budget while maintaining widespread public attention through viral content. He made these remarks in response to a lighthearted comment from East Kalimantan Governor Rudy Masud during a joint meeting with the House of Representatives’ Commission II.

The exchange began when Rudy, during his presentation, acknowledged Dedi with a playful nickname, calling him the “Content Governor.”

“My respects to the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, thank you for your presence, and to all the governors here today. Kang Dedi, the Content Governor, you’re doing great work,” Rudy said during the meeting held at Commission II, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

Dedi, seizing the moment during his own presentation, addressed the nickname toward the end of his remarks.

“Lastly, the East Kalimantan Governor referred to me as the Content Governor. Alhamdulillah, through the content we’ve created, we’ve managed to cut routine advertising expenses,” Dedi stated.

He elaborated, “Typically, West Java’s provincial government spent 50 billion rupiah on media partnerships for advertising. Now, we’ve reduced it to just 3 billion, yet our work continues to go viral. Thank you.” (*)
